Denver Nuggets 2023 NBA Champions Parade

By Daniel Paiz

One week ago, magic returned once again to the Mile High City as the Denver Nuggets clinched their first-ever NBA championship. Game 5 was the final domino, as Denver won at home against the Miami Heat 94-89. The city was electric. The fans both inside of Ball Arena and outside took it all in. Three days later, the Denver Nuggets 2023 NBA Champions Parade got underway as seemingly the whole city converged on Union Station and Civic Center Park.

Parade highlights

There were children everywhere, both school age and those kids at heart. Posters were handed out to fans. Everything you can think of was for sale. Cameras shuttered. Police officers on motorcycles, horses and by foot surveyed the landscape. A mild partially cloudy day maximized the excitement and enjoyment of the countless people peering over guard rails and each other to get a look. A glimpse. A frenzied photo or video of the titans of the hardwood, victorious after glorious battles against the league’s best challengers. The day was a long time coming, and those in attendance echoed their excited joy.

The following is a recap of this day, the 15th day of June in the year 2023. This experience is definitely high on my list of live events. It will never be forgotten.
