March Madness is one of the most exciting times of year when it comes to sporting events. 64 teams all vying for a national championship, and this year both the Men’s and Women’s tournaments are getting all kinds of attention (and with good reason). If you are someone like this writer who is from the school of Ball is Life, it’s time to have our version of One Shining Moment. It’s time to poetically relive the repeat championship performance from the UConn Huskies, as Hurley’s Huskies Repeat.
Hurley’s Huskies Repeat
Moments define legends,
diving for a loose ball,
gaining badges to share later as blood spills now,
one of the smallest states in the union
has become college basketball’s hometown.
Back-to-Back Champions not accomplished since 2007,
by the end of the night in Phoenix
this squad would have a dominant ending.

Donovan Clingan is a name a year ago only diehards might know,
the gigantic center who played his role backing up Sanogo.
This season that changed as the big fella blocked everything,
opening his own paint shop around the rim,
decorating the 10-foot mural with art over the course of 40 contests.
Forget not the leadership of a graduate, only the Most Outstanding Player on site,
Tristan Newton doesn’t put up the big numbers, but runs the right play all night.
Shifty and pro handling like his padawan Stephon Castle, no doubt.

Karaban and Spencer are foundational,
Diarra providing X-factor bench help,
going down the roster can be done later, as likely more magic makers
await to sprint and pivot their first tournament steps.
Six times the Huskies have had confetti showers,
no doubt they want more.
Hurley joined the ranks of legends,
and still has more to show.
