Halfway through the month and somehow it feels right and wrong. That is to say, some days drag along while others fly by. Sometimes the most important thing to do is sit in a moment and observe your surroundings. Such as which shade of blue might be the color one observes most on a clear day.
Often, we catch ourselves trapped in our minds in regard to the future or the past. Doing so is understandable, but also robbing ourselves of the present. Hard to unwrap life’s lessons when one isn’t learning in the moment. NaPoWriMo provides a good opportunity to be in the moment as well.
Sky or Robin?
Chillin’ in DC at the White House for a minute,
Janelle Monae and Harper Hill lookin’ resplendent,
from over a decade ago to ponder that makes me hesitant.
pause for a minute,
release those clicking keys,
no swiping blue lines to ignite your screen,
and gaze around to,
soak in the surrounding silence, natural movement unfolds.
truth be told at times life be sold,
cold shoulders to scalding stares,
little moments define chunks of time,
unfair.
it’s puzzling,
this hyperfocus laser-guided replaying of such things,
adding orchestral arrangements and soft, natural lighting,
greater production than most studios,
for a single encounter,
floundering or triumphantly winning, no matter.
mindful is difficult when
pterodactyl screams glide around action scenes.
To live in a vacuum isn’t the cleanest ways to disengage,
lest we feather bowling ball matters, focus gets splattered.
and it’s not the one for taking tests or nailing interviews,
rather viewing and comparing in enjoyment various sky hues.
