Sharpening Spontaneity (11/30 NaPoWriMo 2025)

By Daniel Paiz

Sharpening one’s sword of the day (the pen is the weapon of this era) is essential for survival. That can mean in person, online, correspondences of some variety, and however else you might exchange info. Spontaneity is refreshing, albeit something that feels frowned upon as one ages.

Certainly, making plans and following through is important. It shows commitment, responsibility, and a myriad of other things. However when it comes to NaPoWriMo, tackling the proverbial mic of sorts is just so much more fun.

Sharpening Spontaneity

Random reckless recycling is quite a starting point,

colliding about with sound effects fainter than a boink,

don’t be fooled by the massive undertaking abound,

soundless, odorless, and aiming for your crown,

there’s no shelter,

no defense against what’s aiming

indiscriminately for you,

there’s no reason to be panicking,

although I wouldn’t stand in the middle of the street with you,

that’s challenging it.

Moments come and go as the pressures rise,

switching between phases makes it harder to ignite,

the whole thing,

could be over in a matter of minutes,

it’d be a tale for Guiness if this wasn’t common business,

direct those eyes,

away from such aerial displays,

Scott Lang himself would flee in dismay.

Rest assured that the forecast is nothing new,

rainbows show the rain was far off from our purview.
