Thanks, Mr. Obvious (13/30 NaPoWriMo 2025)

by Daniel Paiz

Sometimes folks need you to point out what’s right in front of them. Often this isn’t appreciated, and I can understand their reasoning. The state of the world today seems to call for it though, as mistakes made can be avoided with such simple reminders.

This leads into NaPoWriMo getting that snarky response of “Thanks, Mr. Obvious.”

Thanks, Mr. Obvious

Be sure to drink plenty of water,

be careful when crossing the street

so your life doesn’t falter,

alter those life choices to get some good sleep,

tired yet of simple reminders yet,

causing one such grief!

But if you:

drank the liquids,

chomped veggies not timid,

swivel-necked for surroundings,

and oh yeah relaxed and rested?

The stress might flush out,

the pain might slow down,

the body could flow now

skirting danger galloping? whoa owww,

so maybe appreciate.

It’s the little things that give you away,

the small decisions that reinforce bales of hay,

the daily stuff that restructures mental range.

So after you do it all,

say it eye-rolling without pain:

Thanks, Mr. Obvious!
