There are just a couple of more entries for NaPoWriMo 2025 before April is finished. At this point, a good deal of folks are over it or have started to tune out. That’s understandable.
However, this too closely reflects public opinion towards civic engagement. Getting involved doesn’t mean simply voting. It also involves keeping up on happenings around you, learning what’s next, and what one can do about it.
“Time Keeps Ticking…” is a reminder to combat complacency.
Time Keeps Ticking…
The national election isn’t the end of threats,
every four years isn’t sufficient to fracture the broken treads,
the path isn’t paved through a voting booth alone,
no engagement with local officials and policies,
means even lower quality could go.
It’s not easy,
admittedly people are tired,
requiring folks care?
That’s only happening for those
who spark fear or help raise others outta despair,
there’s no magic,
no easy little old timey help serum,
the truth is there’s gotta be a step away from delirium!

Okay,
making it sound easy again,
switch away from today’s scores,
and google your city and
latest local stories my friend,
now scroll just a bit,
click and read,
most don’t take more than a few minutes,
wait that one cause your head to steam?
////////////////////////////////////////////
Well that’s a good start,
yeah there’s other nonsensical stuff like this too,
read a few other items,
to get sense of how things all blew,
down instead of up to inspire some masses,
more like a funeral for
the death of
middle, exhausted, frustrated classes,
and it’s not just the youth,
yeah, you caught the double entendre a few spots ago,
multiple levels of how far things have to go,
the work is forever,
the efforts make it seem slim,
given up have so many,
as who knows
how to avoid spilling over the brim.
Time will keep ticking,
one must avoid,
accepting regulations harsher
than being a clone or a droid.
