The goal is always to have some bonus material as the wonderful month of May rolls out at the conclusion of NaPoWriMo. Due to a global pandemic this year, there were no video performances of poetry captured, unfortunately. However, that doesn’t mean there can’t be one last surprise for all the readers out there. Frequent poet collaborator Xarly Mendoza found some time in his busy schedule to drop a new piece for us. Without any further delay, here is his newest piece to date, “Pray For…”.

Another Black body picked bone clean by a system ran by pendejxs where the grass is always greener on the other side as long as the other side is outside and kept away from our unfortunate reality, it being a travesty in being a criminal in a victim-ridden crime that’s called victimless
Now riddle me this, is that really any justice?

Another Brown body picked bone clean by a system ran by pendejxs who would sell their own mothers for an extra tax break, godforbid listening to the people when it’s the people’s blood that feeds their own egos and lines the gilded hallowed halls they hide behind keeping the status quo while behind closed doors we all know they purposefully go down on their knees for each other calling it just another “business merger”
Now riddle me this, is that really any justice?
Another body picked bone clean by the same system ran by the same pendejxs who will always upkeep the divisionary societal lines that keep our communities blind and deaf to each other, painting the illusion its “my struggle before yours” when the big picture says otherwise 👀
