Believe it or not, this poem will be Cypher Sessions’ 700th article. For some reason that seems a bit more momentous than other benchmarks that have been passed. Also, other marks like that were not really realized until they had passed; this one has been getting the stare down for about 50 articles or so.

Oddly enough, this makes me think of The Simpsons’ current run of episodes. 35 years of airing episodes has that franchise roughly around 770 episodes. Perhaps that number can be caught, but maybe not. Either way, it’s a fun little comparison that most would not make. Simplicity is sometimes the best way to celebrate, so a haiku of celebration will be the order of the night this evening.

To be like water,

one must observe what’s around,

flow past what distracts.
