Stream of consciousness is sometimes the best way to get ideas out, and to put words to swirling thoughts and pictures in the mind. It can be a bit choppy, or disruptive, but it’s also honest. For the most part, anyway. Tonight’s poetry will seek to go that route and explore a little bit in this twelfth entry for National Poetry Writing Month.
Let It Flow
Rhythm through the schisms,
check what’s been missing,
the mirror appearance of self
isn’t sticking around waiting,
debating,
what’s the best course of action to take,
trim, shave,
or forget it for another day.
Gotta wake up whether it’s first light or last flicker,
organized chaos is a fun conundrum to deliver,
not scripture.
lessons appear across various writings today,
but more like guidelines than hard and fast rules persay,
allocating time to debate with self is needed,
that’s different though,
it’s not being your harshest critic to the point of demeaning.
