Baffling Haiku (Poem #26, NaPoWriMo 2024)

By Daniel Paiz

As these last few days of NaPoWriMo winds down, it’s another chance to ponder life and the world surrounding us. There are some fun and entertaining things happening, and there are some truly dreadful things happening. It’s understandable if one looks away from the bad due to how it seemingly overwhelms the good, day after day.

However, it is important to recognize that bad stuff and evil actions take place daily. Recognizing this helps one to cherish the good, the quiet, the calm. It also helps to process this complicated and layered thing called life. Although truth be told, one ongoing event is not all that complex.

Baffling Haiku

Thirty-four thousand,

More attacks on Rafah next,

You’re the bad guys now.
