Thank You (Poem #30, NaPoWriMo 2024)

By Daniel Paiz

With that the 2024 NaPoWriMo 30 poems in 30 days season comes to an end. It’s been full of haikus, rhyming stuff, nature stuff, and more. The point of poetry is to express how you feel, find new ways of sharing your perspective, and having fun smithing some words together. It can rhyme, and it does not have to as well. Let’s see how this final poem turns out, and try writing something yourself too!

Thank You

Twelve years ago, some guy decided to write online,

at the end of the blog era, not a kind time,

but he designed some rhymes,

put together ideas,

covered a whole lot,

From concerts and films to similes and onomatopoeias was the plot,

at times too wordy,

other times too rhythmic,

this spirit it gave though is the takeaway for this kid.

Fast forward to today,

tackling 30-day challenges like a champ,

light work,

that experience Murray-esque,

knocking down projects to prevent soul regress.

Tireless at times, needing a nap at others,

life a fluid balance,

peaks and valleys like no other.

Losses of those close,

got closer from others getting through a tough spot.

Thank You for witnessing the journey,

this a pit stop as the trip far from over, no roadblocks.
