April is not only a month of poetry, but a time when sports in Colorado have raised stakes. The Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche both have taken the first of sixteen steps they’ll need to take to reach history and glory.

Commemorating the difficult journey is just what we do around here; don’t worry, lines of poetry will increase tomorrow.

Playoffs haiku

First hurdle is cleared,

Gold and Burgundy have won,

Onward they must go.
