The 6th day of NaPoWriMo has come and gone, and we continue with our random challenges for ourselves. So, this one is going to be a brand new one too, where you should listen to the music video that will be attached, and then the second time, read the rhymes provided while listening to the song to see how well they match up. Think you can handle that? Okay, let’s get it started.
Doug E Fresh & Slick Rick-The Show
Here we go!
Whatchu know about going old school today,
paying homage to underrated greats in your own way,
That’s how you learn the impact of what they’d state,
or should, or should, or should, or should I say,
what Doug E brought to the masses in a most verbal display,
Don’t know the name, then go and learn the way,
the method, so fresh,
architect for the rest
to box beats to death, it’s almost no contest,
Suggest another boxer, I dare you to go respond,
Si-Si-Six minutes, Si-six-minutes, audience you’re on,
spreading knowledge, from the forefathers and mothers,
of the culture so many lay claim upon,
I do my due diligence, to belabor the fact,
That so many attempt to recreate, but often times sound whack
learn the predecessors to be a factor, before yo rhymes go down in disaster!
And that is our 16 to a classic not referenced enough in our opinion. Have your own bars to throw down with? Think you can do what we did above? Do so in the comments below and let’s see what you all got! Much respect to any and all that do. Until that 7th poem in like 23 hours, we’ll see you soon. Peace!
