Four days in and the poems just keep continuing to flow! We hope you all have started to write your own poetry, or at least have thought up a couple of ideas to write about. If you are writing some poetry for NaPoWriMo 2015, then let us know! You could see your work on this very page. Check out the newest piece below, and let us know what you think in the comments:
Quarters are more valuable than any paper currency,
because you cannot launder properly with cash,
you cannot save yourself from bureaucratic tickets for where you parked,
and you cannot play decades-old video games as they were meant to be played.
It’s the same thing with everyday life,
as you plan and practice the course of your day,
make adjustments when things aren’t going as they should,
and learn from your victories and defeats of how the day unfolded.
You can learn a lot from four quarters,
as everything you have learned,
every way that you compose yourself,
and consistently hitting will lead you to victory.
But life is more than just a game,
it is more than tuning threads to your musical liking,
more than just working harder than you ever have,
and more than just a final score.
The thing that everyone learns from four quarters,
is to learn about how you spent your investment of time.
Did you learn the lessons that all greats before you have?
That the final score is not what will determine your final outcome?
What will determine it,
is how you prepare for each quarter of your life,
the lessons you learn throughout,
and whether you left everything on the court thru four quarters.
