It has been quite a while since our posts from NaPoWriMo 2016, but we did promise a 7-part poem to make up for the 7 lacking poems that we were unable to put out during the month of April. Here is the 1st in the 7 part series, and the rest of the poems will come at least once a day for the next week. Without further ado, here is Greetings:

Welcome

To a land of criticism that’s seldom

providing what one needs to compete

and discover their talents but instead

how exactly one plans to feed, themselves

in times of no wealth the health

of a soul is what determines what one has left.

This story continues on with

a decision that must be made,

does the antagonist become lucrative with funds

or invest in something beyond wealth,

without help

That’s the key thing to remember,

an empire crumbling within will swelter,

a wall knocked down from the outside can be remade,

but when the blow comes internally

that power’s collection must be made.

So Greetings,

welcome to the saga told in poem,

ancient and modern,

you decide the perspective of how things for you go.
