Word vomit is sometimes what a writer or poet calls the process of getting everything out of one’s head and innards and seeing what’s what. That is partially what is going to be read below, but it’s also a slew of thoughts and reactions as well. Cathartic is the process of writing. Whether it’s in poetic form, rhyming away like an emcee who hasn’t unboxed a mic, or it’s a few words over a few lines. Length is not the point. Double entendre doesn’t seem to make an appearance either. But, soul healing is what the below is, getting those words out. More is to come, but this piece is simply meant to get things going, while taking a look at the blue marble around us.
It’s Sobering
And that concludes the 2024 season…
*checks calendar*
Oh, that’s just the end of February, ok…
weeks fly by while it’s a never-ending day,
dismay isn’t the right word,
neither is melancholy,
in passing conversations, we’ll mention you’re “alright” while “I’m guuud”,
never diving deeper when we probably should.
—
It’s sobering,
the photo quality capturing genocide in 4K definition.
it’s sobering,
a response to immolation is to reload ammunition.
it’s sobering,
streets approach dystopian Sci-Fi films every day,
and not blinking an eye at it is the norm today.
It’s sobering to realize drowning emotive reactions,
in liquor is the last thing to go and do,
instead, one could join in organizing or at least some community group,
the problem is one has to enter into that mental habitation,
whereas most of the time you and I are between survival
and our soul’s starvation,
temporarily refilled with escapist sports, tunes, or movies on display,
before being dragged back into consuming pertinent information, so blasé.
The ridicule of current mood doesn’t seem to bother dudes,
whereas we’re more concerned with what women do instead of ending solitude,
Better Help ourselves, or at least go beyond googling diagnoses,
fact of the matter is,
comatose current state only disrupted by ego reactions too irate,
meditate, it’s sobering and like fasting meant to cleanse some inner gunk,
and take a moment to understand one can’t fake the funk,
being drunk with lack of sleep is what’s made our minds restless,
need to start caressing self-compassion and turnstiles of change,
resolving past pitfalls will age us but help clean up inside what’s messy.
It’s sobering.
in passing conversations, we’ll mention you’re “alright” while “I’m guuud”,
never diving deeper when we probably should.

Ooooff
a thought that pops up from time to time for me haha but def hits too hard at times too
Yeah man. Too many generic responses because they’re easier. When you dig a little deeper sometimes we realise people probably need to answer that question more often
