Here we are on day 2 of NaPoWriMo 2020, and it’s a combination of a reality check and some visual wordplay. My experience with this whole COVID-19 has largely been from inside, digesting everything that’s happening from what I read and hear. This is a kind of PSA while also a moment of time captured for archival and historical reasons.
Heart Head
Left ventricle is critical to the Aorta I’m about to cut,
You didn’t bargain for my verbiage to hit so rough,
smooth as sandpaper and finishing those unpolished with the rhyme,
Birds chirping beyond Cuckoo levels for those wasting time,
This isn’t a time of easement,
It’s a juncture beyond due,
No fees can pay the price accrued
Question is, comfy clothes or tailored out in your coffin suit?
The doom and gloom isn’t meant to dishearten,
merely to pump that clear, watery fluid guarding your brain,
because the chemistry above is outta whack in these times insane,
Yes go for that walk,
just don’t treat it like a marathon,
Dragged out and crowded where droplets will prolong,
This method of living is beyond an actor’s normal parlay,
Joke’s on us, the killing is beyond the comics pages on display.
