Sleep Haiku (National Poetry Writing Month Poem #14)

By Daniel Paiz

Hopefully none of you have trouble sleeping, or if you have recently, you’re slowly working on catching up if you can. It can seem like there’s too much to do, and you might be too wired to go to sleep. I get that, I really do.

However, go to bed right now and give your body a chance to rest and recharge. Believe it or not, but your body is like a battery. If you keep draining your energy, you won’t be able to keep going for very long. I’m telling this to the proverbial you, as well as the very tired me: get some sleep.

Sleep Haiku

Getting so much done,

But you’re grumpy and cranky,

Hey! Go to sleep now.
