Back again with yet another installment of NaPoWriMo 2023, as poem five will our first foray into haikus this poetry season. Haikus are pretty sweet, because they are VERY concise, leave VERY little room for throwing words together, and require some clever arranging at times. However, they force you to be creatively focused and bring about much pondering, which is an important aspect of poetry.
As mentioned in yesterday’s piece, basketball is always on the mind of this writer before you. This one had been dribbling around my brain this evening, but recent news has inspired a slightly different take that leads to a small celebration. Haikus are the best.
